Ryan Schaefer crowned State Champion in 300 Meter Hurdles!

Senior Ryan Schaefer became the 5th Glenbrook South Track and Field athlete to win a state title when he crossed the line first in the 300 Meter Hurdles at the IHSA State Championships this weekend. Ryan joins Jim Blondell (1983-Discus), John Strickland (1990-300 Meter Hurdles), Colin Hepburn (2009 and 2010-100 Meter Dash) and Ryan Faut (2021-Discus).

Ryan also earned a silver medal in the long jump to complete his career as a 3 time state medalist adding to his 2022 medal in the 4 x 400 Meter Relay. Ryan also made the finals in the High Jump, finishing 16th overall.

Congratulations on a phenomenal career, Ryan! We wish you all the best in the future.
